Job Description

As a Data Science Fresher, you will be responsible for assisting the data science team in various tasks related to data analysis, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making. Your primary goal will be to support senior data scientists and gain practical experience in the field of data science.

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Preparation: Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources for analysis.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to understand data patterns and trends.
  • Feature Engineering: Assist in feature selection and engineering to improve model performance.
  • Model Building: Develop and implement machine learning models under the guidance of senior data scientists.
  • Model Evaluation: Evaluate model performance and fine-tune models as needed.
  • Data Visualization: Create data visualizations to communicate insights and findings effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of your work, including data sources, methods, and results.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to address data-related challenges and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Continual Learning: Stay updated on the latest data science techniques and technologies through self-study and training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as data science, mathematics and statistics.
  • Basic Knowledge: Familiarity with data analysis, statistics, and machine learning concepts.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data science, such as Python (Strong knowledge required)
  • Data Tools: Basic knowledge of data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Scikit-Learn, SciPy Statsmodels, TensorFlow, Keras and PyTorch). Proficiency in tools and IDE for DS such as Jupyter, Google Collaboratory, PyCharm. Any exposure to computer vision will be a great plus.
  • Machine Learning: Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle data-related challenges.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team and learn from senior data scientists.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, techniques, and technologies in the field.
  • Passion for Data: A genuine interest in data and its applications in solving real-world problems.
